Who is
DryRiver
Carving...…

Present:
I am a creator (from
Spirit) of the spirit,
but it took about 38
years to figure this
out...but better late
than never, as the
saying goes.

Past:
Being a woman and
not typical in any
sense, I built boats,
yachts and marine jet
engines for over 25
years. During which,
the men I worked
with taught me
valuable lessons that
I still carry with me
today. Two of the big
ones…“Let the past
go” and “say what
you mean or feel”.

Inspiration:
Because of many
close friends who had
faith in my evolving
work, I kept plugging
away. My parents
have always been the
best supporters and
the love of my life,
BlackOwl, another.
Through others I
have been blessed to
continue evolving
and learning new
valuable lessons
like… “What I like in
art or color is in no
way what others
might want!!!”

I hope others follow
their own course and
let their spirits find
the gifts we each
have to share. Many

My Art:
I hand carve wood. I
hand paint each using
the natural attributes
of the wood to
enhance the one of a
kind art piece. I then
preserve them by
applying 6 to 9 coats
of varnish to protect
the finished product
for years of
enjoyment. Each one
is branded with a hot
iron with my
signature, its name
and number to
authenticate its
uniqueness. I hope
you enjoy my art.

"Great Barracuda"
Wooden hand carved Barracuda, part of the Living Waters
Series. No patterns have been used, making each fish a unique
one of a kind piece of artwork. The Great Barracuda has been
painted in watercolors/metal acrylics over hand drawn scales.
Sealed in 8 coats of a high grade gloss marine varnish (UV
protectant) that will protect the colors against fading or damage
over time. Barracuda measures 30 inches in length, is 12 inches
wide and has a glass fish eye which completes the realistic look.
There is a wire hanger located on the back for easy hanging on
any wall. Comes signed, dated, numbered, along with the name
by wood burning on the back

"John Dory"
Hand carved wooden fish created freehand without patterns. The
John Dory is a solitary fish found in depths ranging from 20-650
feet in the oceans. It generally stalks its prey since it is not a fast
moving fish. This John Dory measures 17-1/2 inches in length,
11-1/2 inches wide and has a glass fish eye to finish the realistic
look. Painted in watercolors then sealed with 6 coats of a high
grade marine varnish (with a UV protectant) that will protect against
fading or damage over time. There is a wire hanger located om the
backside for ease in hanging. Comes signed, dated, numbered
along with it name by wood burning on the back. An original from

"Tangerine"
Wooden hand carved fish created freehand without patterns. Part
of the Florida Series of fish being named after towns/cities in the
State of Florida. Once a name is used it is then retired from the
Series. Painted in watercolors/metal acrylics over hand drawn
scales, and then sealed in 6 coats of a high gloss, high grade
marine varnish. This will protect the colors against fading or
damage over time. Tangerine measures 15 inches in length, is 8
inches wide and has a glass eye. There is a wire hanger located on
the back for easy hanging. This fish comes, signed, dated,
numbered along with its name by wood burning on the backside.

"Venus"

measures 51 inches in length, is 23 inches in width and has a glass
blue marlin fish eye. There is a wire hanger with stainless eye
